A Photo-controllable HNO-releasing Agent
HNO (nitroxyl) is one of reactive oxygen species that has recently received much attention. It is reported to have important biological and pharmacological activities. Nakagawa et al. have developed a photo-controllable HNO-releasing agent whose release of HNO is regulated by photoirradiation (330-380 nm), and reported its utility. This HNO-releasing agent is applicable to in vitro experiments because of its hydrophilicity. It is expected to elucidate the biological effects of HNO and be applied to the medical field.
